How Swerve Coaching & Consulting Ltd. collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Last updated: October 31, 2026

Swerve Coaching & Consulting Ltd. (“Swerve,” “I” or “me”) is a leadership coaching and consulting business based in Canmore, Alberta. I respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what I collect through this website and through enquiries, why, and the choices you have.

Who is responsible

Lauren McCreery, founder of Swerve, is responsible for privacy at Swerve. You can reach me at lauren@swervecoaching.com with any question or request about your personal information.

What I collect and why

  • When you contact me. If you use the contact form or email me, I collect your name, email address and anything you choose to include in your message. I use it to reply to you and to discuss working together.
  • When you book a call. Discovery calls are booked through zcal, a scheduling service. It collects the details you enter, such as your name, email address and preferred time, so the call can be scheduled and confirmed.
  • When you subscribe. If you sign up for new articles, I collect your email address and use it only to send you new articles. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
  • When you work with me. Information shared during a coaching or consulting engagement is kept confidential in line with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics and the terms of our agreement.

I collect only what I need for these purposes. I do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and I do not use it for purposes you have not agreed to.

The Leadership Check-In

Your answers to the Leadership Check-In stay in your own browser. They are not sent to me or stored on any server.

Website analytics and cookies

With your permission, this site uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the site, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are located. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to do this. I use the results only in summary form to improve the site. I do not use Google Analytics for advertising.

Google Analytics does not load until you choose Accept in the notice at the bottom of the screen. If you choose No thanks, it does not run. You can change your choice at any time using , also found at the bottom of every page.

The site itself may also use a small number of cookies that are needed for it to work properly, such as for security and form submissions. These do not track you for analytics or advertising.

Service providers and storage outside Canada

I use trusted service providers to run this website and my business. They may store or process personal information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to courts and authorities under local law. These providers are:

  • Wix.com, which hosts this website and stores contact form submissions and subscriber email addresses.
  • Google (Google Workspace and Google Analytics), which handles my email and, if you accept, website analytics.
  • zcal, which handles discovery call bookings.

If you have questions about how these providers handle personal information on my behalf, please contact me.

How long I keep information

I keep personal information only as long as I need it for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, for example for tax and business records. When it is no longer needed, I delete it or make it anonymous.

How I protect information

I use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including password-protected accounts with two-step verification, secure (HTTPS) connections and limiting access to what is needed.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or withdraw your consent to my using it, subject to legal and contractual limits. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. To make a request, email lauren@swervecoaching.com. I will respond within 30 days.

If you have a concern, please contact me first so I can try to resolve it. You also have the right to contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
